I’m almost too embarrassed to tell you why I now need to wear an apron the next time I organize and not just any apron one with pockets.
The old me would have kept an embarrassing story like this under wraps. But since we’re friends, we’re friends right? Since we’re friends I’ll tell all…
Last evening I got the organizing bug. Has that ever happened to you? Where you just have to straighten stuff? I was on a mission to purge!
I’m a fan of striking when the iron is hot- so I got to work. Moving tubs of clothing, swapping stuff and trying not to get too sidetracked looking through a box of memorabilia (stay tuned more photos from that box to come.)
In the midst of my organizing frenzy I made the mistake of answering the phone. Then I made the bigger mistake of putting the phone down.
It wasn’t until today that I realized the phone was missing.
I pushed the “find” button on the base. Nothing.
I called my house phone from my cell phone. Nothing.
Then it hit me. The last time I used the phone was during the great organizing blitz of May 2012. Which could only mean one thing. The one would be found in one of the many bins I’d sorted through.
That’s when the great phone recovery mission of May 2012 began.
Fifteen minutes later the phone was recovered, wheww! And that’s why the next time I act on my urge to organize I’ll be wearing an apron with pockets. And why I’ll try my best to slip the phone into one of the pockets instead of simply putting it down.
